Volunteer
We are always looking for volunteers to help us execute and expand our various programs. You do not necessarily have to be an engineer or rocket scientist. We will provide training and everyone has fun. Opportunities include:
Guest Speaker - Inform the students about your STEM career. Most students don’t know how many different STEM careers there are and what they do. Guest speakers give first hand insight into some of these careers, what it is like to work in it, salary, and what classes are important to take in High School to prepare.
Help teach specific science lessons - Not just lecture, but also perform demonstrations with class participation and lead labs that prove, demonstrate, or utilize the lecture material.
Flathead Valley Rocket Rally - We need volunteers to help with this very large full school day event that involves over 70 teams competing. Volunteers arrive as early as 7am. The rally ends at 2:30pm and cleanup usually ends by 4:30pm. Volunteers help with setup and take down of the canopies, tables, launch pads, rocket stands, crowd control, and serving lunch. We also need launch pad supervisors who are each responsible for the preparation and launching of rockets from their assigned pad. Volunteers are not required to stay throughout the entire event, but can support according to their schedule. The school teams show up before 9am and the rally starts at 9am. Free lunch is provided for everyone.
